South African TV presenter, producer and author, Elma Smit, has today been confirmed as the latest addition to the broadcast talent team for the World Tens Series, joining fellow presenter Alex Payne and lead commentator, Nick Heath.

ELMA SMIT – Presenter – @Elmakapelma

Elma is a vastly experienced broadcaster who has worked across both radio and television and most recently published a guide to monetising social media, “Become An Influencer”.

Elma was the first woman ever sent to cover a Rugby World Cup for African sport broadcaster SuperSport, in New Zealand in 2011, and did so again four years later, covering the 2015 tournament in England. In addition to this she has been in the studio and pitch side for several Springbok Tours, Test Matches, Super Rugby and Currie Cup matches over the last decade.

2019 saw her cover both Rugby and Cricket World Cup’s. Elma was live as an ICC Insider at Lords when England clinched the hair-raising 2019 Cricket World Cup final in July 2019 and then created the world’s most-watched daily digital show, RWC Daily, for World Rugby in Japan when the Springboks won the 2019 Rugby World Cup in November.

In her day to day role, Elma hosts a daily prime-time TV talk-show, TrendingSA, for national broadcaster SABC and is the breakfast radio sport anchor on JacarandaFM.

Commenting on Elma Smit’s appointment, World Tens Series COO Paul Holmes said: “Elma is a brilliant presenter and I am thrilled she has agreed to be a part of the World Tens Series broadcast team.

“We are assembling a world-renowned line-up and I can’t wait to see them all working together, as a team, to deliver content that will bring fans all over the world closer to the series.”
