A Historical Rugby Destination

The World Tens Series is fast approaching with just over a month to go until Rugby Tens action gets underway in the majestic island of Bermuda from the 24 October – 7 November 2020.

As we build up to this epic event, we explore rugby culture in Bermuda.

The World Rugby Classic which features world-class rugby players from all over the world has been hosted in Bermuda since 1988 and now the island will have the perfect combination of rugby events, a traditional rugby culture and now a new and exciting event which is perfectly suited to the welcoming and exciting atmosphere on the island.

Rugby players will feel a sense of calm and serenity while on the elegant island and the destination bodes well for the World Tens Series player welfare aims.

1995 South Africa Rugby World Cup winning captain Francois Pienaar is a big fan of rugby in Bermuda.

“What will stay with me is the great memories of 5-star hospitality, wonderful people and a very well-run event.”

Player development workshops and activations will be hosted on the island and this will give players the opportunity to learn about anti-corruption, anti-doping, better understanding of contracts and what is expected from a professional athlete.

Bermuda is an ideal location for players, the broadcast package and the excitement of ten-a-side rugby.

Fans will experience the sights and sounds of the island and there will be parties and opportunities to meet the players.

Through the power of sport, Bermuda will attract major events in the future and create a legacy as a rugby destination.
